HTML meter - how to use <meter> tag

The HTML <meter> tag is used to define a scalar measurement within a known range, or a fractional value. For example, it can be used to define height, width or rating provided the range is known.

The <meter> tag should not be used to define scalar values of unknown range. For example, the <meter> tag cannot be used to define the height of a person unless the maximum height is specified.

Attributes

The meter tag supports the global and event attributes.
